Birmingham, Alabama — The life of 28-year-old Chase Alan Murray came to a tragic and untimely end following a sequence of events on Interstate 65 in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Murray, a resident of Hayden, lost his life after a collision near the 17th Street North exit. Authorities report that the incident began at approximately 5:27 a.m. when two vehicles were involved in an initial crash along the interstate.
Following the collision, both vehicles came to rest on opposite shoulders of the roadway as traffic continued to increase with the morning commute. Authorities have not disclosed additional information regarding the driver involved in the second impact. The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine the full sequence of events.
